If you want to understand the educational landscape in Tanzania, you can’t just look at the grades. You have to go into the classrooms, feel the dust of the chalk and understand the challenges that the teachers face every day. At SCHULBANK e.V.<\/b>, we have learned that a scholarship is much more than just paying school fees – it is a promise that we keep together with the teachers. <\/p>\n

A partnership at eye level<\/h3>\n

In Tanzanian culture, respect is the foundation of every relationship. We do not treat the teachers as distant donors, but as partners. We maintain close and friendly contact<\/b>, visit the schools regularly and know the faces behind the desks. This closeness creates trust. We know that teachers often work under difficult conditions – overcrowded classrooms and scarce resources are unfortunately not uncommon. By listening to them, we show our appreciation for their tireless work. <\/p>\n

Our goal is identical: we want our prot\u00e9g\u00e9s – children who have often had to cope with severe strokes of fate at an early age – to have a real chance of a self-determined life.<\/p>\n

    Many parents or guardians of our scholarship holders have never had the chance of a higher education themselves. For them, everyday school life is often a foreign world. This is where SCHULBANK plays a crucial role: We are the bridge.<\/b> When misunderstandings arise or communication between school and home falters, we mediate. We explain the necessity of learning times to parents and explain the often precarious situation in families to teachers. <\/p>\n

    More than just administration<\/h3>\n

    Managing a scholarship program in Tanzania means being present on a human level. The teachers tell us openly about their everyday lives, and this honest exchange is worth its weight in gold. It enables us to offer help where it is really needed and to ensure that every euro invested goes directly to the children’s development. <\/p>\n
