New environment, new opportunities – ready to learn!
Edgar Mgembe visits our Dodoma scholarship holders in their new school.
the Star Primary School. There I met our scholarship holders and especially the new students who came from Rhema Primary School in Dodoma. They were previously cared for by the Safina Center – a lovingly run orphanage in Dodoma, which is part of the Safina network.
These children continue to stay in a Safina orphanage, which provides a home for them. The only difference is that they are now moving to Iringa to live in a new house, while still receiving the support and guidance of Safina.
The children already feel very much at home at Star International Primary School. Many told me that they feel physically and mentally fit and are ready to concentrate fully on learning. And that is crucial: those who are fit can concentrate better and often achieve better grades.
Everyone seemed happy and motivated to continue their schooling at Star International Primary School. They have settled in well, feel comfortable and welcome, have made friends and are coping well with their new everyday life – everything you need for a successful new start.

PS: Even if it looks like it – this is not a sports uniform. Such school clothes are quite common in Tanzania.
